Bristol, UK, February 7, 2011, UNIT4 Business Software Ltd, the UK division of UNIT4, the world’s leading provider of business software for fast changing organisations, today announced the launch of File4, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution powered by Seahorse from CoreFiling, that will allow UK companies to convert MS Word-based corporation tax statutory accounts data to the iXBRL format, as required by HM Revenue & Customs (HRMC) from April 2011.
File4 is a straightforward, competitively priced solution that will allow companies to rapidly comply with HRMC’s format requirements, with no need for additional software to be installed.
It is a secure on-demand service which provides predictive intelligent tagging of UK GAAP or IFRS company accounts in MS Word format, converting them into iXBRL. Unlike other tools, File4 is highly intuitive. Conversion to iXBRL is largely automatic, requiring minimal user intervention and no specific knowledge of iXBRL.
iXBRL is an open and global standard for exchanging business information. HRMC has mandated that organisations filing corporation tax returns delivered on or after 1 April 2011, for accounting periods ending on or after 31st March 2010, must use the iXBRL standard.
